Who the course is for

The AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting is an ideal starting point for anyone wishing a career in accountancy or finance. The purpose of this qualification is to offer grounding in the core accounting knowledge and skills needed to progress either to employment or to further study.

Course Content

You will cover the following units:

  • Book Keeping transactions
  • Book Keeping Controls
  • Elements of Costing
  • Work Effectively in Finance
  • Using Accounting Software

Learning Methods

Classroom based learners will attend Newcastle College Business Academy either 1 full day per week or two evenings per week. Learners will also be expected to complete additional coursework outside of these hours at home.

Entry Requirements

Learners wishing to study this qualification must hold GCSE's in Mathematics and English at Grade C, 4 or above.
