Who the course is for

The purpose of the AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting is to enhance the skills developed from the AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting, enabling students to maximize opportunities in their current or new employment. By studying for this qualification, students will require professional accountancy and finance skills that will be useful throughout their skills.

The AAT professional Diploma in Accounting qualification will suit those who:

  • Have completed the AAT advanced Diploma in Accounting and who would like to build their accounting skills. 
  • Are already working in finance and would like a formal recognition of their skills

Course Content

The following units will be covered:

  • Financial Statements of Limited Companies
  • Management Accounting - Budgeting
  • Management Accounting - Decisions and Control
  • Accounting Systems and Controls

Students must also complete two of the optional units and their associated assessments:

  • Business Tax
  • Personal Tax
  • Credit Management
  • External Auditing
  • Cash and Treasury Management

 

 

 

Learning Methods

Classroom based learners will attend Newcastle College Business Academy either 1 full day per week or 2 evenings per week. Learners will also be expected to complete additional coursework outside of these hours at home.

Assessment Methods

All AAT assessments are practical computer based assessments (CBAs) and marked automatically. During the AAT foundation Certificate in Accounting you will sit 6 assessments which must be sat at Newcastle College.
