Who the course is for

The Advanced Certificate in Bookkeeping is ideal for individuals looking to further develop their understanding and knowledge of bookkeeping.

Qualification Gained

On completion on this course and passing all three modules you will gain the AAT Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Bookkeeping qualification.

Course Content

You would have three modules to complete:

  • Advanced Bookkeeping
  • Financial statements
  • Indirect Tax

Learning Methods

Supported online learners will have access to our virtual learning enviroment which provides all course material and content. Learners can log in at any time as long as they have internet access. Learners will also have access to a curriculum leader to support them through their studies.

Learner will be required to dedicate between 6-10 hours flexibly per week.

Assessment Methods

All AAT assessments are practical computer based assessments (CBAs) and marked automatically. During the AAT Advanced Certifcate in Bookkeeping you will have 3 assessments, which must be sat either at Newcastle College or an external AAT test centre. 

Progression Opportunities

Once you have completed this qualification, you can then complete a further 3 modules to complete and gain your AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting. You would then be able to move onto the AAT Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting.

Entry Requirements

Learners wishing to study this qualification must hold GCSE's in Mathematics and English at Grade C, 4 or above. To ensure you are studying at the correct level we will ask you to complete a diagnostic assessment as part of the ernolment process.

You would also need to have completed the AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping or Accounting.
