Who the course is for

The purpose of the AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting is to enhance the skills developed from the AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting, enabling students to maximise opportunities in their current or new employment. By studying for this qualification, students will acquire professional accountancy and finance skills that will be useful throughout their careers.
 

The AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting qualification will suit those who:

  • Have completed the AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting and who would like to continue to build their accounting skills
  • Are already working in finance and would like a formal recognition of their skills
  • Would like to go on to become an AAT full member and/or study for chartered accountant status
  • Would like to start their own business through the AAT-licensed member in practice (MIP) scheme.

Qualification Gained

By completing and passing the six modules you will gain an AAT Level 4 Advanced Diploma in Accounting qualification.

Course Content

The course will consist:

  • Financial Statements of Limited Companies
  • Management Accounting: Budgeting
  • Management Accounting: Decision and Control
  • Accounting Systems and Controls
  • Personal Tax
  • Credit Management

Learning Methods

Supported online learners will have access to our Virtual Learning Environment which provides all course materials and content. Learners can log in at any time as long as they have internet access. Learners will also have access to a Personal Online Tutor to support them through their studies. Learners will be required to dedicate between 6 – 10 hours flexibly per week.

Assessment Methods

All AAT assessments are practical computer based assessments (CBAs) and marked automatically. During the AAT Foundation Certificate in Accounting you will sit 6 assessments which must be sat either at Newcastle College or an external AAT Test Centre.

Progression Opportunities

After successfully completing the AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting (Level 4) you can progress directly to the CIMA Diploma in Management Accounting (Operational Level) offered via Supported Online Learning.

Learners wishing to study this qualification must hold an AAT Level 3 qualification.
