Business leaders in the North East have invited Newcastle College University Centre students to take part in an exciting challenge tackling graduate job market opportunities.

The North East Ambition programme, brought together by the North East Local Enterprise Partnership (NELEP), is an online project that will bring together select degree students from the University Centre, Newcastle University, Durham University, Northumbria University and experts from North East organisations including Newcastle City Council, Newcastle Building Society, Greggs, Virgin Money, Home Group and the NHS.

With only 50 places available for University Centre students, participants will take part in teams to tackle the challenge “How do we increase knowledge of and access to graduate employment opportunities in the region?” set by senior leaders of businesses in the region.

This four-day event takes place in either June or July, and is completely free of charge. The programme aims to help students use their critical thinking skills, test their teamwork abilities and give them a platform to voice their opinions about the graduate job market in the region.

More information on the programme and how students can get involved can be found here.

With a limited number of places available, students are being urged to sign up to this unique programme by Friday 19 June. If you would like to know more and to secure your place, email rachael.emmett@ncl-coll.ac.uk .
