On successful completion of this course you will receive a VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Fashion, Theatre and Media Hair and Makeup Studies.

As part of your course you will be required to partake in work placement of 315 hours throughout the course.

You will also benefit working in our real hair and beauty salon, The Retreat.

You will have the opportunity to take part in external projects and activities such as fashion shows, photo shoots and projects.

You can take part in competitions including intercollege, regional and national AHT competitions along with WorldSkillsUk.

English and maths skills are essential as a make-up artist. You will need excellent communication skills when working with clients. You will need maths skills to complete treatment and service costings and budgets and accurate record keeping.

If you have not yet achieved a grade 4 GCSE in these subjects you will continue to study alongside your course.

On successful completion of this course you can progress to degree level study in courses such as FdA Advanced Techniques in Media and Semi-Permanent Make-up.

You can also progress directly to industry employment, working as a professional makeup artist in photographic studios, department stores, make-up companies or as a mobile artist.
