    More about the course

    This one-year Art and Design subsidiary diploma is designed for students who have a passion for Art and Design but may have previously missed out on achieving GCSE English and maths grade 4 or above, or need to strengthen their existing art and design portfolio.

    As a student, we can support you to achieve your GCSEs in English and maths alongside your studies, while also helping you develop a creative portfolio and a more developed understanding of Art and Design.

    This will help you to learn more about a range of specialisms in the sector and help you choose a pathway that is right for you.

    Newcastle College is an approved centre for UAL Awarding Body Subsidiary Diploma in Visual Arts, and you will be guided by expert tutors throughout this exciting programme.

On the whole, my degree apprenticeship has helped me develop a lot as a designer and I feel a lot more confident in my own ability moving into industry."
