More about the course

Are you passionate about visual storytelling and digital design? This Level 2 introductory course is perfect for creative individuals who may not yet have achieved 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above.

In this course you will explore key areas of animation, graphic design and illustration, giving you an overview of what you can create within these fields and helping you discover where your strengths and interests lie.

You will learn how to develop ideas from initial sketches through to final digital outcomes. You will explore character design, product and promotional design, storyboarding and basic animation techniques, building your skills across all areas.

As you progress, you will create a varied portfolio of work that showcases your creativity and technical ability, preparing you for progression onto specialist Level 3 courses in areas such as animation and illustration or graphic design.

Our expert tutors, who have professional experience in animation, illustration and graphic design will support you in developing both your hand-drawing and digital image-making skills. You will also receive training in the core functions of industry-standard software, such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, to help you work confidently in a digital studio environment.
