Want a hands-on start in the fitness and leisure industry? This course has been designed with GLL, Elswick Community Pool and Gym, and RISE to give you real experience from day one. You’ll study the Level 2 Technical Occupational Entry in Fitness Coaching, alongside industry‑recognised Circuit Training and Kettlebell qualifications, so you can coach with confidence.

You’ll spend half a day every week on placement in a real gym or leisure centre, building the practical skills employers look for and learning how facilities run behind the scenes. With tutors who’ve worked in fitness coaching and industry professionals involved throughout, you’ll get a clear insight into genuine career pathways.

This programme has been shaped by employers to prepare you for real work in the industry! After completing this course you can go directly onto our Health, Exercise and Fitness Practitioner - Level 3 (Year 2) course.

What can I do with a qualification in Sport?

Daily tasks:

  • Monitors the distribution, presence and behaviour of plants, animals and aquatic life, and performs other scientific tasks related to conservation not performed by jobholders in MINOR GROUP 214: Conservation and Environment Professionals.
  • Advises farmers, medical staff and others, on the nature of field crops, livestock and produce and on the treatment and prevention of disease.
  • Observes the structure of communities of organisms in the laboratory and in their natural environment.
  • Researches the effects of internal and external environmental factors on the life processes and other functions of living organisms.
  • Performs tests to study physiological and pathological characteristics within cells and other organisms.
  • Identifies and studies the chemical substances, including microbial infections, involved in physiological processes and the progress of disease.
  • Studies the physical and chemical form, structure, composition and function of living organisms.
