More about the course

Teaching assistants make a difference to children and young people's lives every day. Through dedicated support in classrooms, teaching assistants help to foster education and development through one-to-one support and guidance in the classroom.

This part-time Supporting Teaching and Learning - Level 3 course is a one-year programme that will help prepare you for employment as a teaching assistant. Like our Supporting Teaching and Learning - Level 2 course, this programme of study will provide you with an opportunity to undertake a practical work placement, as well as build your theoretical knowledge with support from our industry-experienced tutors.

Supporting Teaching and Learning will give you a deeper understanding of education, which may be required for specialised roles and could also help you progress towards a higher-level teaching assistant (HLTA) qualification.
