Before you join us in September, we'd like to invite you to our Academic Skills Headstart event. This one-off training day will give you the opportunity to develop your academic skills ready for starting your degree, as well as the chance to meet the lecturers and support staff who will be on hand to support you while you're studying at Newcastle College University Centre.

Free parking is available onsite in our main car park on Scotswood Road.

During the Academic Skills Headstart event you will get involved in a range of activities, including: 

- Workshops and seminars: prepare for your degree with our interactive sessions. Learn effective study techniques, time management strategies, note-taking skills and more from our experienced tutors.

- One-to-one guidance: speak to our academic advisors - you can get advice on topics including exam preparation, research methods and academic writing techniques.

- Resource showcase: explore our extensive collection of academic resources, including textbooks, online databases, interactive e-learning and reference materials.

- Meet your course mates: meet up with other students who'll be starting at Newcastle College University Centre in September! Form your own study groups and build a supportive student community ready for when you start your degree.

How do I sign up?

To sign up to the event, click on the 'Register Now' button. The deadline to register for the Academic Skills Headstart is Tuesday 30 July at 5pm. As space is limited, we encourage you to book your place as soon as you can.
