Newcastle College is delighted to announce that Deputy Principal, Lisa Hamilton-Murray, has joined the board of the Newcastle Rugby Foundation, the charitable arm of Newcastle Falcons Rugby Club.

The Foundation and Newcastle College have a long-standing partnership, collaborating on impactful initiatives such as the nationally acclaimed CAST programme, which promotes volunteering and social inclusion.

The two organisations collaborate to deliver the successful HITZ programme, providing students in sports and protective services courses with valuable hands-on experience, life skills, and career preparation opportunities while contributing to their local communities.

With nearly 30 years of experience in further education and a leadership role at Newcastle College since 2016, Lisa offers a wealth of expertise in her new position as a trustee specialising in education and will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of the charity.

“I was thrilled to be invited to join the board,” said Lisa. “The partnership between Newcastle College and the Newcastle Rugby Foundation has already created life-changing opportunities for our students, showcasing the transformative power of sport and education.

“I am excited to work more closely with the Foundation and look forward to contributing in any way I can to positively impact the lives of even more young people across our community.

Iain Ramage, Chair of Trustees added: “Newcastle Rugby Foundation is delighted to have Lisa Hamilton-Murray join the board as Trustee. Lisa brings a wealth of experience in a senior leadership role within Newcastle College and we welcome her to our Board.”
