Newcastle College is delighted to be shortlisted for three awards at this year’s Educate North Awards.
The prestigious annual event celebrates, recognises and shares best practice and excellence in the education sector across the North of England.
The shortlisted entries recognise Newcastle College’s strong community partnerships through the Open Doors: Beyond Barriers initiative, its commitment to student wellbeing through the Warm Spaces Initiative, and the outstanding individual achievement of student Lamin Gibba, who has been shortlisted for University Student Achievement of the Year.

Community Engagement Award – HE/FE Sector (Open Doors: Beyond Barriers)
Student Experience Award – HE/FE Sector (Warm Spaces Initiative)
University Student Achievement of the Year (Lamin Gibba)
The awards ceremony will take place at The Point, Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester on 7 May 2026, hosted by broadcaster Lucy Meacock.
