Newcastle College University Centre (NCUC) has been confirmed as the new shirt sleeve sponsor for one of the North of England’s fastest-growing non-league football clubs, Newcastle Blue Star FC.

This exciting relationship reflects NCUC’s ongoing commitment to supporting grassroots organisations and championing the transformative power of both education and sport.

By aligning with Newcastle Blue Star FC, the University Centre aims to strengthen its ties with the local community and provide meaningful opportunities for its students and staff.

As part of the sponsorship, NCUC will support the Scotswood-based club at home games and offer exclusive matchday experiences to students and staff - helping to raise the profile of Newcastle Blue Star FC among the region’s student population and workforce.

Jonathan Rees, Director of Health, Science and Welfare at Newcastle College University Centre, said: “We’re hugely excited to be teaming up with Newcastle Blue Star FC - a club that’s making a real impact here in the North East.

“This collaboration reflects our belief in the power of sport and education to transform lives and strengthen communities.

“As an anchor institution, we’re always looking for meaningful ways to support and engage with our local area and this collaboration will give our students unique opportunities to connect with the club and grassroots sport.”

Stephen Best, Chairman of Newcastle Blue Star FC, said: “It is fantastic to have Newcastle College University Centre onboard, providing important support to the club and helping us in our aim to provide the best possible opportunities for our members and the wider community.

“Our on the pitch success has come on the back of putting faith in our young, upcoming players, as well as developing homegrown talent, so it is only right that we partner with an industry leading educational establishment where they can develop their academic, technical and vocational skills as well."
