Perhaps you’ve been having some doubts for a little while, perhaps it’s just a feeling you’ve just thought about, but sometimes, when it comes to choosing the right course for you, you might wonder – is it too late to change my course?

On Results Day 2021, UCAS will be offering a route to a different course called Adjustment. This is the path that some students take when they’ve exceeded their expected grades. It could be that you’re able to get onto a degree at a different institution that you thought you’d never get into (course vacancy willing), or you might see a different course at the university you want to go to with higher entry requirements.

The most important thing to remember is: is this course right for me? Going through Adjustment 2021 doesn’t mean that the course that’s your first choice and been accepted will no longer be available. You can simply just take a look at what other options are available, if there’s a course you’d prefer to do now you know your results or if there really isn’t anything better for you after all.

Adjustment is another way for you to take a second look before you confirm your university place. You won’t be able to take a look at Adjustment places until A Level Results Day (10 August 2021), and the Adjustment period will end on the 18 August.

Use this time to fully weigh up all your options. Speak to your college or sixth form, your parents, the university with the Adjustment course you’re interested in, and make sure you take some time to think about what it is you want to do as this is your future.
