Our Apprentice Programme is well established and we are proud to provide guidance, support and growth opportunities to help the success and development of our employees who began their career on the Apprentice Programme. We have a strong ethos of continuous improvement and welcome ideas and suggestions from our employees. We are looking for Engineering Apprentices to join our Fabrication Department.


What will I do?
You will be working at Komatsu UK in the Fabrication Department for the duration of the three year apprenticeship. You will spend four days each week in the Fabrication Department and the remaining day each week you will be at Newcastle College Energy Academy in Wallsend. In conjunction with Newcastle College you will work to achieve an NVQ Level 3 Plate Welder and Advanced Apprenticeship.

- How to operate machinery such as overhead cranes, air tools and manipulators
- How to follow work procedures and drawings

Requirements
We are looking for individuals with a keen interest in welding, who are enthusiastic, reliable and have the willingness to work hard within an engineering environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of, or expect to attain, 4 GCSE’s grade 4-9, to
include Maths and English, or equivalent.
