Systems & Support Apprentice
About the Role
We’re looking for an enthusiastic apprentice to join our Systems and Support team. You’ll gain hands-on experience across IT support, system and application support, and product testing. This role will help you develop the skills needed to troubleshoot issues, assist end users, and ensure the quality of our hardware, software, and IT infrastructure.

As a Degree Apprentice at MHT Technology, you’ll gain a strong understanding of the business by working across multiple departments on varied projects. 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (08:30 – 17:00) with flexible working options

Training Provider
Newcastle College (remote and in-person delivery)
Training & Qualification
You will attend Newcastle College (typically one day per week during term time) to complete a Level 6 Digital & Technology Solutions Professional Apprenticeship.
This will lead to a BSc (Hons) in Digital and Technology Solutions.
When not at college, you’ll gain practical, on-the-job experience supported by our team of engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-line support for company software and hardware products
- Deliver internal IT support, maintaining business applications and network infrastructure
- Assist with design and deployment of customer system solutions (remote and on-site)
- Research emerging technologies to improve support capabilities
- Manage and organise helpdesk tickets
- Participate in software testing on real hardware and simulators
- Attend team and project meetings
- Work with databases and system integrations
- Perform basic application testing to ensure requirements are met

Career Progression
Upon successful completion, there is potential to progress into a Systems and Support Engineer role within MHT Technology.
Qualifications
Essential:
- GCSEs (Grade 4–9 / C or above) in English, Maths, and a STEM subject
- A Level (or equivalent) in a STEM subject
Desirable:
- A Level (or equivalent) in Computer Science or IT
- Minimum of 96 UCAS points
