    Commis Chef Apprentice – The Role

    Join Riley's Fish Shack, a seafood-focused venture born from our love for fresh, honest, and locally sourced seafood in Tynemouth. What started as a roving street food stall has grown into a unique dining experience, and now we're offering you the chance to kickstart your culinary career in our kitchen.

    What You’ll Learn: As a Level 2 Commis Chef Apprentice, you'll rotate through various kitchen duties, gaining hands-on experience while developing fundamental culinary skills. This apprenticeship provides you with the foundation for a successful career as a chef, covering everything from ingredient prep to food safety and stock management.

    What You’ll Be Doing:

    • Process fresh, local fish & crustaceans
    • Assist with food prep and cooking
    • Support chefs with dish preparation
    • Handle deliveries, restocking, and stock rotation
    • Contribute to kitchen cleanliness and food safety

    Requirements:
    Grade 3 or above in English and Maths.
