Based on the north bank of the Tyne the Energy Academy provides a centre of innovation, training and development for the energy sector. The Academy delivers qualifications from Level 2 through to degree level in Subsea & Renewable energy technologies, manufacturing and maintenance as well as Apprenticeships.

Our Energy Academy is a multi-partner, cross regional collaboration between Newcastle College, major employers, local authorities, Sector Skills Councils and strategic stakeholders in the sector.

Facilities

All courses are delivered at the Newcastle College Energy Academy, based on the North bank of the river Tyne in Wallsend. 

Facilities include welding bays, fabrication equipment, MMA, MIG and TIG welding, plasma cutting and engineering workshops. The College also has equipment for the testing of 1KW wind turbines and solar panels as well as Computer Aided Design (CAD) facilities.
