Newcastle College's Energy Academy is recognised as the leading subsea and renewable energy training provider in the North East. With a new Energy Academy coming soon, there has never been a better time to join us and develop the skills needed for a career in the growing green energy sector. You will benefit from practical, hands-on training in a real working environment using industry-relevant equipment recognised by our industry partners.
Our curriculum includes introductory courses for 16-18 year olds, alongside degrees and part-time courses for adults. We offer advanced training in welding and fabrication, offshore renewables, and subsea and renewable energy engineering. By joining forces with sector leaders like Crowdhouse, Smulders, WD Close and Catapult ORE, we provide students with real experience in industry-standard training facilities at our Energy Academy. An even bigger and better Energy Academy
In September 2027 we’re opening a second facility as part of our Energy Academy. Within this brand new, dedicated site you’ll have access to even more specialist training equipment, industry-standard facilities and opportunities to learn the skills employers are looking for, including training in emerging areas such as carbon capture, hydrogen and battery storage!
